Designed from the start as a state-of the-art product, the T696 is a three-way 6" x 9" automotive loudspeaker that features 450 watts of peak power handling, edge-driven textile tweeters, and a uniquely designed aluminum frame. The T696 is the ultimate manifestation of JBL’s years of leadership in the field of automotive sound. The innovative design is directly derived from JBL’s upcoming GTI speaker series. It is completely made of cast aluminum, and the high-quality, black-carbon-fiber-finished trim ring provides a modern look that fits well into most car interiors. The Proprietary cast-aluminum frame provides the strength and rigidity that this high-power speaker requires. You won’t see this unique design on any other speaker on the market. Even the midrange and tweeter are built into a solid aluminum structure with integrated grilles for perfect cone protection even when the grille is removed. Unlike ordinary 6" x 9" speakers, the T696 woofer uses a 38mm voice coil combined with an oversized motor structure.
